News; Nintendo DSi Update Blocks Flash Cartridges

The latest 1.4 firmware update for the DSi has been released. The update adds support for uploading images to Facebook and improved the speed of the Camera function. Nintendo however forget to mention that the update also blocks DSi compatible flash cartridges from loading after the update.

The flash cartridges which are confirmed to not work after the update are:

• DSTTi
  
• EZ-Flash Vi
  
• M3i Zero
  
• Supercard DSONEi
  
• R4Ui

It is still unknown whether this update can be bypassed by the current flash cartridges on the market so we will just have to hope the flash cartridge companies show some support for their products now they are beginning to be rendered useless by Nintendo. Until this update can be bypassed I strongly recommend not updating the firmware of your DSi in case the added security of this update cannot be bypassed.
